Community
Community. Empower. Skills. Future.
At Greater Lincolnshire College, we believe a community’s strength is measured by how well it uplifts every member—especially those facing barriers to learning and employment. We are committed to forging meaningful partnerships across Greater Lincolnshire to ensure our education and training create real, lasting impact where it matters most.

Building Skills, Together
Our success is built on a simple promise: to meet the real educational and employment needs of Greater Lincolnshire’s people and employers. We work hand-in-hand with local community representatives, employers, and support organizations to design programs that deliver what our region needs.
Through regular focus groups and community consultations, we listen—so our courses in literacy, digital skills, IT, cyber security, and employability are informed by those we serve. This ‘community-informed’ approach allows us to respond quickly to emerging skills gaps and reduce disadvantage through targeted, practical learning.

A Supportive Place to Learn & Grow
Greater Lincolnshire College actively collaborates with community groups to strengthen inclusion, regeneration, and opportunity for all.
With this commitment, we have established six community pledges:
- To be the trusted skills partner for local charities, support services, and frontline organizations working with disadvantaged residents across Greater Lincolnshire.
- To maintain a strong referral network of community organizations, ensuring learners can access holistic support beyond the classroom.
- To create meaningful partnerships with Voluntary, Community, Social Enterprise (VCSE) and local grassroots groups, embedding community voice into our service design.
- To act as a ‘Community Skills Champion’, promoting and integrating local groups within college programs, events, and outreach initiatives.
- To provide free CV writing, cover letter, and interview training for any resident seeking to improve their employability. Interested individuals can contact us to join this program.
- To offer fully-funded learning opportunities for disadvantaged adults in Greater Lincolnshire, including literacy programs, digital foundation courses, and pathways into IT and cyber security—removing financial barriers to skills and jobs.
